More than just hands

In 2013, Dr. Vermon Esplin and Dr. Jeffrey Stucki opened the Idaho Hand Institute with the mission to be a regional hand center of excellence where anyone can receive exceptional care for their upperextremity care for injuries and conditions. Don’t let our name fool you though, we treat more than just hands! Any issue affecting bones, tendons, arteries, or nerves from the finger to the shoulder, is our expertise! Our goal is to provide the best care and get you functioning again, back to doing what you love!

Our Providers

Doctors Esplin and Stucki are both Board Certified orthopedic surgeons, with additional fellowship training in the hands and upper extremities. They are both passionate about healing and getting patients back to their lives.

Patient Story

Convenient Locations

To provide convenient, quality care to as many people as possible, we operate in multiple locations. Our main office is inside the Sports and Orthopedic Center at Idaho State University, in Pocatello. We also have locations in Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, and Soda Springs. Let us know which location is best for you, and we’ll schedule your appointment for a day when the doctor is close to you!

Idaho and Beyond

We love Idaho; actually, most of us are from the area. We love the outdoor lifestyle and the people that share this wonderful state with us. We’re the only Fellowship trained hand surgeons in this region, meaning you no longer have to drive out of state to get the high caliber of care you need! In fact, primary care and specialty providers have referred their patients to us from as far away as Salt Lake City, Ogden, Wyoming, Rexburg, and others. In addition to caring for Idahoans, Dr. Esplin regularly travels to Peru to provide free care and surgery to those who could not receive it otherwise. We believe in doing all we can to ensure people have full use of their hands, which are so easily taken for granted, but are a significant part of how we live our daily lives.
